I also don't have any of these kinds of sabers.
But if you don't care about the hilt as much as just want a fully functional saber hilt in general, then buying a new one with whatever board and features you want would be the route I would take.
I recommend getting one of the other pommels.
You also lose the option to have multiple soundfonts installed on your saber at one time.

For stage combat, I want thinner, shorter hilts.
This lightsaber is perfect not only for the younglings, but also for warriors who need a more compact lightsaber.
